Measurement Guide
Here's a step-by-step measurement guide for bespoke clothing:
-
Start with taking the measurements of the chest. This is done by measuring around the fullest part of the chest with the measuring tape held snugly but not too tightly.
-
Next, measure the waist. Place the measuring tape around the natural waistline, which is usually around the belly button.
-
Measure the hips next. This is done by measuring around the widest part of the hips and bottom.
-
The next measurement is the shoulder width. Start at the edge of one shoulder and measure straight across to the edge of the other shoulder.
-
Measure the sleeve length by measuring from the shoulder seam to the desired length of the sleeve.
-
Measure the bicep by wrapping the measuring tape around the widest part of the bicep.
-
Measure the cuff by wrapping the measuring tape around the wrist at the narrowest point.
-
Measure the neck by wrapping the measuring tape around the base of the neck, where the collar would normally sit.
-
Measure the length of the jacket or shirt by measuring from the top of the shoulder down to the desired length.
-
Measure the inseam by measuring from the crotch down to the desired length of the pant.
-
Lastly, measure the outseam by measuring from the waistband down to the desired length of the pant.
These measurements can be used to create a custom pattern for your bespoke clothing. It's important to make sure the measurements are taken accurately to ensure the best possible fit. If possible, it's always recommended to have a professional take the measurements for you.
